Meet the Baker

Hello!! My name is Angelita Smith, the owner and baker behind Grandma’s Cakes KC, LLC, a brand inspired by my grandmother, Lillie Mae Robinson, who I affectionately called,“Mama”. 

I developed a passion for baking cakes in Kansas City, MO when I was 9 yrs. old watching and learning from Mama. Mama was an excellent cook and baker. She baked cakes, cookies, pies, biscuits, dinner rolls, etc. Mama baked the most delicious melt-in your mouth desserts I’ve ever tasted, and she always infused them with so much LOVE. I have her in mind every time I bake. I believe she would be pleased. After Mama passed away when I was 17, I stopped baking for a few decades. With encouragement from my husband, family and friends, and after becoming a grandmother myself, I decided to start baking again. April 2020, I started my own business baking cakes and treats infused with the same special ingredient my grandmother shared with me... LOVE!! ❤
